The Discalced Dallas Carmelite nuns are devoted to a simple, contemplative life of prayer.  Their charism and constitution ask them to trust in God's providence alone for all their needs, both spiritual and material.

Our Dallas Carmelite Nuns live strictly on charitable donations.
 
For this reason, some of their friends started a fund in 2012 through the Catholic Foundation.  The purpose of the fund is to be an available tool that God may use to assist the nuns with medical care, utilities, building maintenance and other larger-cost items needed for everyday living, as well as being a long-term financial resource for the Nuns. The fund is managed by the Catholic Foundation.
